<\/p>\nLittoral region is one of our favorite birdwatching destinations, and the provinces of Corrientes and Misiones, in general, are home to amazingly diverse birdlife.<\/p>\n
We recently embarked on an unforgettable journey with Janusz, his wife Barbara, and their son Bartosz, a family visiting from Poland. We traveled from Buenos Aires to some of the most fascinating corners of the Argentine coast. It was an intense 16 days, filled with nature, hiking, sailing, and above all, lots of birdwatching and nature photography.<\/p>\n

First stop: Iber\u00e1 Wetlands<\/strong><\/p>\n The trip starts by car from Buenos Aires to Colonia Carlos Pellegrini, the gateway to Iber\u00e1 National Park, where we were greeted by the mega bird of this area: the Strange-Tailed Tyrant. There, we spent the first four days exploring one of South America's most important wetlands. We sailed by boat through lagoons and canals, where birds and mammals seemed to pose for our cameras. We also hiked the park's trails, where the forest and grassland offered us encounters with several species.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n Northern Corrientes: Loreto, San Miguel and Villa Olivari.<\/strong><\/p>\n The second leg took us north of Corrientes, with our base in Loreto. There, we spent five days exploring rural roads, rivers, and natural areas with incredible biodiversity. We visited the Cambyreta and San Antonio Portals. It was a true paradise for discovering species like the Jabiru, the White-headed Marsh Tyrant, and the Ash-throated Crake, as well as mammals like the Marsh Deer, the Caraya Monkey, and the ever-present Capybara. But Corrientes had a parting gift: the sighting of macaws right in the city, turning the trees of Villa Olivari red, an unforgettable experience.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n We starts our travel to Misiones. After a few hours on the road, we arrived at Iguaz\u00fa, where the next day we visited Iguaz\u00fa National Park. The power of the falls was only part of the experience: On the trails, we were able to observe large toucans, magpies, and various species roaming the trees, but the star of the day was undoubtedly the Black-fronted Piping Guan. Birdwatching is one of the main activities in the park.<\/p>\n We also explored Urugua-\u00ed Provincial Park and the Urugua-\u00ed\u2013Foerster Biological Corridor, and not even the rain stopped us. There, in the heart of the jungle, every hike was a festival of sounds and colors. Staying in a private reserve allowed us to connect more intimately with the jungle, as we woke up to the sound of birds singing and ended the day reviewing species lists while sharing the photos we'd taken.<\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n <\/p>\n A trip to remember<\/strong><\/p>\n In total, it was 16 days of pure nature, during which we saw dozens of interesting species and shared unforgettable moments.
