I wish I had more time to spend with him. Diego picked me up at my hotel on time and we were off birding. We were on birds the minute we got out of the car. That day I got 30 life birds and we saw 80 species. Diego is knowledgeable, professional, has great eyes for spotting birds, knows the area and can find difficult birds. By the way, his English is very good and he continues to learn more by talking to you. He is prepared and studies the want list that you fill out. The ability to point out sulking birds is aided by a pointer that he carefully uses and does not disturb the birds. I have birded Argentina before but this was an exceptional experience. Next trip I plan to arrive early and bird a number of days with Diego. I recommend Diego without reservation.

Excellent two day birding trip to Entre R os with Lavender Birding and Guide Diego Oscar.
Diego was very helpful in planning the trip, even at short notice. Hotel pickup and drop-off in downtown BA timed for maximum birding time around Ceibas. Excellent and cheap hotel accommodation in Ceibas. Meals at the restaurant very close to the hotel were excellent (don’t miss the grill!).
I cannot recommend Diego highly enough, great skills, knowledge and a very nice guy! We found about 125 species in two days in mid-winter and saw a LOT of birds. Fantastic bird watching! If you visit Buenos Aires, a trip with Diego will be a memory for a lifetime!

We birded with Diego M. for a full day and a half around the Ceibas area and had a wonderfully fantastic day. Diego was highly knowledgeable of the birds and we fully enjoyed the time spent birding with him. We saw close to 150 species in just one day!

An incredible and amazing bird photography tour with Diego Monteleone. Just hubby & I and we are from Malaysia. Diego Monteleone was a wonderful and highly knowledgeable guide, attentive and responsive to our requests. He was also patient and we saw many birds during the three days. His skills at locating and identifying the birds by sight and sound was truly outstanding. Many sightings (approximately 130 species) and a great variety of birds seen (screamers, waterfowl, cuckoo, rails, hummingbird, shorebirds, storks, ibis, hawk, kingfisher, woodpeckers, caracara, antbird, woodcreeper, various ovenbirds, tyrant flycatchers, thrushes, blackbirds, warblers, finches). He took us to places off the beaten path. Thank you Diego Monteleone for the great time together. We would never have found the birding spots by ourselves.
Overall, we would say it was a great birding photography trip and would recommend Diego Monteleone and his company to anyone interested in bird watching and photography in Argentina.

An amazing bird filled day with Manuel in Ceibas. Manuel is a top notch dedicated birdtour guide whose enthusiasm and skills gave us a day to remember. Wonderful birds including scimitar-billed wood creeper, nacunda nighthawk and lark-like brushrunner amongst 100+others. Thoroughly recommended.

We went on a tour to Ceibas and an extra tour to the Costanera reserve. We saw over 120 species in one and a half day. Our guide was Gabriel. He is brilliant. In everthing. Knowledge, service, kindness, language skills, and a touch humor. He’s our friend for life now

Sandpiper Tours and Birding Guides are truly world-class. They were quick to respond, articulate, fairly priced, and struck the perfect balance between friendly and professional. Most importantly, they are genuine experts at their craft, consistently locating, identifying, and clearly pointing out birds so I could observe or photograph them with ease.
During our time in the Ceibas region, we recorded just over 100 species, the vast majority of them lifers, and I was fortunate to photograph a significant portion as well. I had the privilege of birding with both Walter and Diego, each of whom I hold in very high esteem. I would not hesitate to use their services again, whether as a first-time visitor or, as in my case, on future trips when I’m able to return to Argentina.

Fantastic day tour in Entre Rios! Guide was very knowledgable, helpful and customized the tour to around the target birds I was looking for.
My one piece of constructive feedback would be to try to start the tour earlier. Although we left at 5am, with traffic we didn’t start birding until an hour after sunrise. So probably an earlier start would have made it even better.
