The mythical route 101 is a special destination for bird watchers and nature photographers, a gravel road that crosses the entire Iguazú National Park with trails and viewpoints that invite us to enjoy the birds and the prime jungle in its purest form, with the bonus of being able (with a little luck) to observe some mammals since Jaguars, Pumas and other large predators pass through that area.
The route shows us different microenvironments within the Paranaense Jungle, passing through beautiful streams, wetlands, palmetto forests and enormous trees that emerge from the jungle, the most striking being the beautiful Palo Rosa.

Diego helped us a bunch to plan our birding expeditions throughout Argentina and gave us helpful tips for spots we were going on our own as well.

We booked onto 2 separate tours with Sandpiper, one led by Diego and one by Pocho. Both tours were professionally led and both Diego and Pocho were very knowledgeable, flexible and thoroughly nice people. We highly recommend them .
