San Miguel del Monte Lake

San Miguel del Monte is a small town two hours by car from Buenos Aires and just one hour from Ezeiza International Airport. This site is especially good for birdwatching, as it has a huge freshwater lagoon and several canals that connect it to nearby streams and fields, creating a favorable environment for birds and nature in general. The site has excellent infrastructure and restaurants overlooking the lagoon, making for a magnificent experience.

 

Near this town, we often visit the village of Francisco Berra, an agricultural area but with a very different atmosphere from San Miguel del Monte, where some species live, like the Firewood-gatherer, the Field Flicker and Pipit's

 

We offer this full-day trip, allowing you to visit both sites and observe more than 100 species in a single day.

We'll begin our tour from a pre-arranged location in Buenos Aires. We can also arrange to pick you up at your hotel or airport...

Day 1 - 8:00Hs
Arrival to San Miguel del Monte

 

After a pleasant journey along a paved road, we will enter the department of San Miguel del Monte, where we will begin to marvel at the lagoon's birds, which tend to gather in large flocks. The main idea is to explore the entire perimeter of the lagoon, stopping at various strategic points.

We'll have a lunch at a beautiful local restaurant overlooking the lagoon and offering a lot of options

In the afternoon...

 

In the afternoon, we will travel to the nearby town of Francisco Berra, just 10 km away. From here, we will take a gravel road, visiting different spots for our activity. In this area, it is also possible to spot mammals such as the Pampas Fox.

Day 1 - 19:00Hs
End of the day

 

We will begin our return to Buenos Aires where we estimate that we will arrive at the same starting point at 8:30 PM.
