I had a fantastic time birding with Diego in Costanera Sur and Entre Rios! I was travelling alone so I was looking for groups to join to get out of the city and see the wildlife of Argentina. I’m so glad I found Diego as he quickly set up a private tour for me in Costanera Sur and also put together a group for me to join on a longer trip to Entre Rios. I’m grateful he was able to put me in a group as it was such a great opportunity too see wildlife and the landscape outside of the city. I felt safe on the tours and inspired by his excitement for birding. He is incredibly good at finding birds and quickly directing you where to look, with the name of the bird always ready, as well as knowledge of their behavior. He also sent me lists after the trip of all the birds we saw, making it so much easier to identify them in my photos. This was super helpful and much appreciated. Thanks Diego!

My dad and I had a free morning in Buenos Aires so we went with Diego to the Reserva Ecológica Costanera Sur, where we managed to see 58 different species in just a few hours, thanks to Diego. Diego was very knowledgable about birds, able to identify birds by the sound and able to give us the English name as well as the Spanish name. I’d certainly recommend birding with him and going to the reserve in BA!

Diego was knowledgeable and very accommodating. He provided a great experience and located many of the most desirable species we were hoping for. Many Colored Rush-Tyrant and South American Painted Snipe. His choice of a lunch venue was excellent as well.

When the birder who had agreed to take us to the Reserva Costanera Sur in Buenos Aires cancelled at the last minute, we contacted some local tour companies, but were sure no one would answer our emails on a Sunday. Luckily, we were wrong, and we soon heard back from Sandpiper. Though the person who answered was busy the following day, he called around to the other guides and found that Diego Emmanuel Oscar was available the following afternoon. We met Diego as arranged, and he proved to be an expert guide and good company. Diego knows the reserve and the birds and their vocalizations very well and he showed us the special birds of the area, including many we would have had a hard time finding on our own. We enjoyed our afternoon with him very much, and our only regret is that he was not available for the whole day. We highly recommend Diego and Sandpiper Birding to anyone looking for guided birding in Buenos Aires.

My husband and I spent 4 days with Diego for birding. We spent the first day at the Ecological Reserve in Buenos Aires. Diego then drove us up to Entre Rios and we spent 2 nights in a little hotel in Ceibas and went birding for 3 days up there. Diego is so knowledgable and has an amazing ability to spot birds! He made adjustments in our schedule with weather changes that worked out well. I can’t even count the number of different species we saw but it was in the range of 150-200. We saw anywhere from 70 to 100 different species each day including some that aren’t easy to find! We also learned about other animals including the pampas fox that we saw and he shared a lot of information about the local area with us. Diego also made sure to accommodate for my vegetarian diet which isn’t easy in rural Argenenia! On top of all of this Diego is very friendly and has a great sense of humor. I highly recommend a birding trip with Diego!

Fantastic 3-day trip to Entre Ríos and Reserva Ecológica Costanera Sur in Buenos Aires. I told them my itinerary and interests and they made a custom package for me. We saw over 140 species in three days. Easy walks and good conditions. Diego knows all the birds at a glance and by their calls. His knowledge of the birds and the environment made for a great trip.

We spent a day birding with Diego at the Costenera Sur in Buenos Aires. After picking us up, we went directly to the park. Instantly Diego was pointing out birds and recognizing calls. He’s an excellent guide and we had a fun time. Highly recommended!
